Since Unifi was released as a faster broadband service from TM there have been many requirements to get better routers in terms of
1)Faster processing,
2)Wider coverage
3) extend IPTV away from where the router was situated to nearer the TV (the then current implementation made the user to choose to have the installation near the TV (cos of the IP segmentation done) or to give up the IPTV and have it where it naturally was previously during Streamyx (ADSL) which was normally a common area or the office within the house.)
4) faster Wifi coverage
Recently a supplier had finally provided us a TP link wifi Router that can replace the existing unit that is provided by TM.
The week test right through the week end proved to be quite satisfying. With
1) a consistent bandwidth availability within the house on wifi
2) and externally to the internet
3) no apparent slow down due to heating up
The applications used to test were:
1) one stream of IPTV application (TM) at any one time
2) one stream of either Dlink boxee media content or mygica media content at anyone time
3) 3 streams of Facebook multi tab, multi account, multi user on PC/notebook
4) 1 stream of IPad 2 applications
5) one continuous online multi player gaming session on the internet.
